Omar Abbas is a young visual artist raised in North Carolina. He received a Bachelor in Fine Arts at East Carolina University with a concentration in illustration. Today he devotes his time to his personal artwork.
Omar is fascinated and horrified at the idea of a person being truly alone. He tries to convey the concept that in isolating oneself from the rest of the world there begins a descent of taking away the identification of what makes the human being. Omar said “The idea of being a human can be broken when alone”. There are isolated figures within each of his paintings surrounded by abstract tendons of energy that provoke or make up the figure.
All acting as suggestive movements and narratives for each piece, the abstractions tease at the idea of being haunted by one’s own thoughts. There is a sense of rhythm created by these circular and linear marks, guiding the viewer through the composition of the painting encouraging a mood. Omar’s paintings portray a wide range of emotions, from serenity to chaos.
