About
Oliver's interest in the the discipline of architecture relies on his understanding that the built environment is a canvas of complex and dynamic set of ideas that operates on multiple scales and can only thrive successfully if the values of change, collaboration, and vision are instilled. He has strategically developed his work experience in order to achieve a comprehensive attitude of design that rigorously analyzes, questions, and critiques the conventional and generic, thus, encouraging a new platform for architectural and urban exploration.
He approaches design problems as experiments, eager to recognize, identify, and test existing constraints in order to investigate new opportunities and strategies that are ecologically, economically and culturally sustainable. He firmly believes in the the value of utilizing research as a performative design tool that can act as a generator for innovative ideas that will help encourage new ways of living, working, and playing.
"Architecture is light versus shadow, solid versus void, volume versus mass. It is nothing more than a relationship of ideas and the tension that exists between those ideas. However, it is the vision one places in that threshold of tension that allows for the emergence of new opportunities of exploration and innovation."
