Born of a French architect father and Mauritian mother, Eric Chavoix grew up in Paris, France where he graduated from “l’Ecole Spéciale d’Architecture”. His diploma project earned him the “Eiffel Tower” prize and won a Lauréat in the contest for the best European diploma. After two years of invaluable experience at Jean Nouvel’s office, he completed his first solo project in 1997; A private villa for a renowned French restaurant owner in upstate New York.
In 1998, Eric Chavoix settled in Mauritius and created an offshore company “No Coffee Architects”. Work soon commenced on premium private projects, predominantly in the Indian Ocean but also in Europe and the United States.
In 2007, Eric gained his Mauritian citizenship and opened a local company “Eric Chavoix Architects”, providing him and his team the opportunity to extend their influence into the local Mauritian market.
Over the past five years the office has expanded it’s scope of work through a number of corporate and community initiatives, while still maintaining it’s core business in private luxury living spaces.
