We are often asked after meetings where the name of our company comes from. The more timid tend to hypothesize roots in Japanese culture, while the more audacious suggest sotto voce that we may have made a spelling error. However, few seem to notice the strongest element, the key which effectively represents our essence.

When we founded Neotokio! we took the liberty of putting an exclamation mark* at the end of the name. We were convinced that one day in the not too distant future one of the group might forget how crazy those days were. So now, whenever one of us seems about to let their guard down, all he need do is glance at that simple sign, that peculiar admonition which conceals a world inside of itself, in order to be taken back to the beginning and the energy of those early days enhanced with the experience of the intervening years.

Now, after having worked with so many important clients, we leave the exclamation mark, or 'admiring' mark as was its original definition, to our future clients, who, like modern-day digital circumnavigators delighted at having reached their destination may finally shout: Neotokio!
