Beyond the Sea. That is how my family name (Ultremari) reads when translated from the Italian. The name traveled a long way, I must say, for my journey actually had its own start far away, in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Enticed by the beauty of San Francisco, and excited with my first oversea’s adventure, I arrived in the Fall of 2007. Since then, there was no moment without learning, both as a designer, my beloved chosen profession, and as an individual.
My work combines digital and handmade elements in a distinctive style, using a myriad of tools, from the digital world (ea. high tech industry softwares) to ancient times (my dearest letterpress...which I will someday own one).
I find inspiration in children’s literature, daily life activities, cute creatures, and fluffy animals. I rejoice realizing that every spotted fluffy-looking thing leads to an interesting design idea or project. I am also influenced by mid-century modern design and have a passion for rollerblading and urban sports.
