Muireann Walshe is a contemporary jeweller and designer living in Dublin. She graduated from N.C.A.D in 2011 with a B.Des. in Craft Design. In April 2011 Muireann was awarded the Future Maker Student Award for her reinvention of the iconic Tara Brooch, as well as a Future Makers Materials Grant. After a very successful Degree Show in N.C.A.D. Muireann has gone on to be involved in exhibitions including; ‘New Designers London’ for the 2011 Graduate Show, she has also exhibited, and was involved in the organisation of ‘N.ew C.ats A.nd D.ogs’ a selection of NCAD graduates, as part of Kilkenny Arts Festival 2011, and 'Best Of Graduate Design 2011' in the N.C.A.D Gallery, September 2011 run by The Institute of Designers in Ireland. Since winning her awards and selling her degree work Muireann has been able set up a studio from which she can continue to explore designing and making her jewellery. Her studio is now based in The Irish Design Shop, Bow Lane East in Dublin City Centre. Read Less
