Starbucks Creative Studio

Senior Designer + Art Director

My role at Starbucks changed at various times throughout my tenure there. At first, I worked designing in-store signage layouts, created shotlists and art directed large scale product-focused photoshoots. I illustrated branding materials for Starbucks Reserve stores, and created artwork that celebrated and helped tell the story of many different small-lot coffee farms. I designed gift cards for 2 years (which was a blast!) and worked on select coffee packaging projects. I worked closely with the Starbucks Art Program on various murals, large format art pieces and silkscreened posters. I gained extensive knowledge on print, and helped push forward the most expressive parts of the Starbucks brand.

Lantern Press

Senior Designer

Worked alongside the Creative Director on various high level and heavy-hitting
projects. This included establishing new ways of working and strategy around
design for product collections. I worked with the Creative Director as well on
defining customer base, brand look & feel, as well as illustration and photography
guidelines. My role also consisted of art direction for new illustrations, and
project management. I worked directly with junior designers while defining
process and best practice, as well as mentoring them in their skills.

PicMonkey

At PicMonkey, I illustrated assets for use in the online photo editing tool. Additionally, I designed greeting cards within their tool and wrote tutorial articles about how to create similarly styled pieces. I collaborated with copywriter to create the tutorial blog posts.
