I am a graduating MFA student in Industrial Design at the Ohio State University. I am currently seeking for industrial designer position.
I worked as a senior designer for a design consultancy in South Korea before starting my MFA degree at the Ohio State. This previous experience enables me to understand how to apply new innovative ideas that take into consideration manufacturing, materials, and processes and thus create successful business models for clients. In addition, studying as a graduate research associate at the Ohio State University makes me think and develop my own logical approaches of design development process based on qualitative design research as well as ethnographic research. During the school years, I took two internships respectively with Design Continuum in Boston, MA (2012) and Design Edge in Austin, TX (2011) in order to develop further professional design skills, enhance my practical knowledge and be familiar with American professional design environment. These internship opportunities complemented my research-oriented education at the Ohio State University with field experience.
Many of my projects have included working as a lead designer as well as a team member to create innovative solutions through all steps of ID process such as preliminary design research, market research, various hands on skills, ideation, 2d/3d visualization skills, prototyping, and CMF follow up. Most of the projects that I led successfully were to design electronic gadgets including Bluetooth headset, TV, Cell phone, portable audio/media player, PC, laptop, and etc. Read Less
