As team lead, edited and coached eight copywriters on the National Accounts team. Created print and digital for Kroger, Google, Trader Joes, Disney and Verizon among others. Built position statements and content for health and wellness programs and health care reform. Wrote a simplified, standardized template for all enrollment books.
Launched company-wide Plain Language program, a crusade to destroy insurance gobbledygook and simplify communication. Created online training taken by 21,000 associates; hosted specialized training for legal, sales and operations; recruited and led the Plain Language Squad; organized an internal promotional campaign; and tested materials with focus groups for audience understanding and attitudes. The program earned a national Champion award from the Health Literacy Institute.
