For as long as I can remember I have been building, fixing, drawing, painting, and fabricating. This continual need to tinker with things has made me very adept at problem solving, a trait has served me well during my 23 year career in the Army and beyond. While in the service, I learned and excelled at leadership, mentoring and growing junior leaders, and developing teams. After “hanging up my boots”, I had the opportunity to continue working with young leaders as an associate professor in military science as well go back to school to obtain my BFA in Graphic Design.
I love learning and applying new ideas/techniques. That fact, when combined with the creative energy of the campus, made earning my degree a very rewarding experience. It was also quite a challenge as I worked 40+ hours a week the entire time. To this day tell my students:, “If you learn something today, then you had a good day.” Well, I had a lot of good days.
My design approach is direct and to the point, although I can be subtle if that is what is needed to communicate the desired outcome for the client. I am passionate about researching and producing thoughtful, detailed, authentic, and layered design solutions.
