Born in Jakarta, Indonesia in 1989. Metta Setiandi is currently working as a full time graphic designer in Singapore. Graduated as a Bachelor of Art in Visual Communication she embrace how her senses are trained which she applies throughout her work and everyday life.
Spontaneous, positive and quirky are few words that best describes her as a person. Her passion are people, art, philosophy, traveling and life itself. She first started photography when she was 17 where she began to use camera as a tool to break the boundaries between her and people on the street where most of the are the unfortunate ones. For her its not just about the image but the moment that she had with the subject really matters. That's why for most of her work she spent a lot of time interacting with the subject.
She has won several awards for her film and photography work. One of the project that really shows her rawness as a person and young artist is 'One Day With Uncle Jin' that was awarded by Crowbar 2009 with a gold for documentary film and bronze for narrative photography. The work is also published and exhibited in Unearthed 2010 and Noise Singapore 2012. Read Less
