Good Day!

My name is Merrilyn Romen and I am a strategic creative director for print and interactive channels. I deliver bespoke design, strategy and branding, as well as elegant and unexpected creative solutions for lifestyle, entertainment and editorial brands. I have a well-rounded career with integrated campaign and platform experience and a strong record of achievement in brand creation, transformation and expansion. I am a respected, cross-functional idea generator, a teacher/mentor, pitch master, and a touchstone to help assure creative excellence among
the creative, UX, tech and product development teams.

My experience in high level UX agile design combined with my extensive creative expertise gives me an edge in helping develop products that scale and turn profits. I've recently completed the re-design of TheInsider.com (including their new logo, website and mini-sites, mobile applications, video players and integration with FlipBoard for iPads, as well as the websites for Entertainment Tonight (etonline.com) and The Insider (theinsider.com). I worked closely with the Director of Product and, through our intense study of analytics, and my UX skills, we have increased page views by 744% and video views to several million and, as a team we have developed unique sponsorships and reciprocal online relationships.


I am extremely well-versed in new technology and am very excited about some of the new branding opportunities. From iPad applications and iBooks to private label social media sites and branded video players, I've been creating websites, applications for mobile and social media, and market-driven products that are on target and on budget for the past 12 years.

I help writers, other designers, and art directors refine concepts, resulting in work that is not just creative, but breakthrough, and on strategy. I work with corporate leaders, account teams and product managers to help plan strategy and brainstorm new initiatives.
