Mehera is pronounced ma-hair-a, in case you were wondering.
I'm currently a Creative Director at AKQA. I have worked in advertising and marketing since 1998, briefly on the traditional agency side and the rest in digital.
I'm an all-rounder with strong planning, design and technical knowledge and have designed campaign sites and banners as well as large-scale websites, content management systems, intranets, extranets and mobile interfaces. Although I've done and enjoy user-testing, it's not where I specialize.
I have been part of my company's leadership team since 2004, first at Framfab and then at AKQA. I've led teams including interaction design, art direction and copy, as well as Flash and HTML.
My clients and project teams are around the world. Although based in New York, I've previously worked in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and London. I've grown up in smaller, somewhat frenetic creative studios, but work equally well in large-scale organizations with global offices and clients.
I enjoy talking to people and mentoring those entering the field, and I'd love an opportunity to give a guest lecture series. I like projects that feel new, on the agency side, client side or in a geeky digital design lab of the future.
When I'm not online, I'm underwater.
