Specializations & Misson Statement
Megan specializes in digital photography of landscape, still life, and portraiture. In her portraiture experience she worked for two years at a portrait studio but has since gone on to take professional pictures for weddings, engagements, concerts, and other events. In all her photographs she strives to capture an emotion or convey one with whatever inanimate object her lense happens to capture. Her ultimate goal is to share with her audience an emotion that she and her subject(s) felt at that exact moment. To her a focus of a photograph is not the center or even the subject it is what the viewer feels.
"Sometimes I'm walking in circles under the dominating sun on a summer morning or watching myriads of leaves get caught in a wind tunnel as I roam on an autumn evening. Either way there is a moment when I pull my camera to my eye and see through it a whole new world. Where everything physical has been built by pure emotion. Where I can capture a feeling and have it come through in the most amazing way. Where colors show through on even the most black and white of feelings. I capture a moment. I catch inanimate objects breathing because in that second I let them borrow my lungs. For a minute all my joy or sorrow was not something I had to bear alone. I handed it off to something that could help me bear my crosses. That is why I love photography."
