Story telling through film began for Max in 7th grade when he made his first film with some friends. From there on his interest in film grew and he later became a co-creator and producer of the video news program at Santa Barbara High School. While in high school, Max created his own video business, videotaping such events as weddings and performances. Max’s work has already received recognition: a Western short that Max shot and co-directed is currently on the festival circuit and won first place for best feature short at the Lancaster, PA Area Film Festival; his film, Bright Eyes, was shown in the Big Bear Lake International Film Festival; and he was the cinematographer on the winning crew of The Apple and the Tree in the Santa Barbara International Film Festival’s 10-10-10 student competition. He has been a key crew member on numerous shorts and features as well as working in grip, electric, and camera department on several high-budget 16mm and 35mm films. Max has thoroughly enjoyed his time at CSUN and continues to learn everyday from his peers out on set. Read Less
