I grew up in Suffolk and spent most of my youth drawing and creating characters with my older brother and father encouraging my every move (or scribble!).

At Art College I discovered a love of illustration, in particular book illustration, but it wasn't until I started my Illustration Degree at Cambridge School of Art (CSA) that my love of picture books and story telling really began. My final degree project received a highly commended award in the Macmillan Children's Book Prize, 2003.

After graduating I moved to Brighton where I met my wife Amy and continued to create and exhibit work. A couple of years ago I moved to Norwich and returned to CSA to study for my Masters in Children's Book Illustration, which I am due to complete in February 2014.

As well as working for publishers such as Harper Collins and Random House I was also a finalist in Waterstone’s ‘Picture This’ competition and in 2013 Harper Collins published my first book, written by Valerie Bloom. Read Less
