Marta Dymek was born in a small province of Muszyna, in the very south of Poland. Growing up in one of the most beautiful places on Earth, Marta developed a curious sense of aesthetics, sensitivity to beauty, and passion for exploring the unknown. Her adventure with photography started at the age of eight, when through a big misunderstanding both of her godparents gave her a camera, thinking the other wouldn’t. With two cameras in her possession, she felt as if she could take photographs of virtually anything. Marta would come back from trips with rolls of film filled with seemingly random things: like a tiger in a zoo, or a leaf, or the corner of somebody’s glimmering eye.

Recently, Marta’s work won first place in the anniversary 50th Issue of CMYK Magazine. Her photography has been showcased in galleries like the 111 Minna in San Francisco and Chinese Grauman Theater in Hollywood by RAW: Natural Born Artists. She also won the international Making the Shoot contest which granted her shooting a spread of Selma Blair for The Lab Magazine.

In May 2012, Marta graduated cum laude from Academy of Art University in San Francisco with a BFA degree in Photography and she feels fully equipped to kick some ass now.

In her free time, Marta enjoys putting up smiles on people’s faces, playing various instruments including the banjo, and creating video-scrapbooks to remember all the small moments that bring happiness to her life. Read Less
