Mark S. Gagne is an artist who resides in the Greater Sudbury area of Northern Ontario. Mark is passionate about photography, particularly a theme he calls “"the passage of time"”. Many would call his work “urban decay”, but Mark feels that is an overly simple and limiting title. Instead, he feels “truly drawn to the effects of time on what surrounds us every day, whether the decay is caused by mankind or natural forces”. He feels that he is truly alive in spaces that are no longer fit for use.
Art has had a place in Mark'’s life for as long as he can remember. In high school, he majored in drafting and architecture. In 2003, he graduated from Cambrian College in Greater Sudbury. He is trained in a number of different artistic mediums, but photography is his greatest passion.
His work has been exhibited in galleries, cafes, restaurants, festivals and busy art markets. Mark is also dedicated to expanding the local arts community in Sudbury. Mark lives with his wife and two children. Read Less
