Lydia Buxton delights in colour and texture. Her design process is a forever-hunt, full of experiments and resolve to discover new ways to will together specific palettes and materials.
Initially interested in graphic design, she moved from the West to the East side of Canada to pursue these interests. She eventually found her home deep in the heart of NSCAD University (Halifax, NS, Canada) nestled in the jewellery studios. In the last year and a half of her studies, she spent much time on one point of inspiration: the Osmia Avosetta. This specific form was filled with a cache of information gathered and supplied by Jerome G. Rozen’s scientific reasearch journals – here she found enough inspiration keep stirring her work with fresh views and perspectives.
Lydia graduates spring 2013 and looks forward to continuing to work within the wonderful craft of metalsmithing - endeavoring to create Art Jewellery that is visually refreshing . Read Less
