Work Experience

Descript

Senior/Lead Designer

• Spun-off, branded, and polished up the internal MacOS text editor app (Descript) originally designed at Detour for creating multi-track location-aware audio. Re-focused Descript and found a natural product market fit with podcasting, and script-based audio/video editing.

• Worked with beta testers, including NPR (Snap Judgment), to gather feedback while improving team workflows and features for professional quality production.

• Set the foundation and designed best practices for a paradigm shift in professional media editing workflows with a focus on editing an audio synced transcript instead of abstract waveforms.

• Designed the first ever offline text-to-speech generation tool for creating a realistic voice double complete with custom intonation styles for the purpose of correcting mistakes, or drafting voice content.

• Heavy focus on systems design and end-to-end experience design for audio/video editing, manipulation/correction, and AI powered media enhancements.

• Designing for the future of creating and editing voice driven content.
