Leanne Molter is a graphic designer first and foremost. Yet she has other skills like basic computer diagnostics, writing, and customer service that she uses on a daily basis. After receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from George Mason University she continued designing freelance. A couple of months after graduation she was hired as a marketing coordinator at a marketing firm where she has been able to design brand identities, marketing kits and advertisements as well as write press releases and articles for her clients. She enjoys graphic design and helping others understand why it is necessary. Leanne has spoken about Typography at the April 2012 Nerd Nite at DC9 with her presentation "What The Font Is Typography?". It was an informal presentation to highly educated individuals. She has also spoken to multiple classes at the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind with her presentation "How I Became A Graphic Designer?" this presentation included an activity introducing the concept of process to the students. "What Da Font Is Typography?" By Leanne Molter

Typography is in front of us every day, and thanks to the invention of word processing software, the average person can self publish an endless variety of works that are blinding to anyone with training in type layout. In this talk, you will learn a brief history of typography, as well as the basics of typography and a rundown of what to do and what never to do. And you will learn that a tolerant typographer never discriminates based on color, weight, or textual orientation.

With passion you can achieve any goal. For me I wanted to be a graphic designer. Through hard work and practice I was able to meet my goals. However my journey isn't over yet, I still have to continue practicing and growing as a designer. This presentation also included an activity introducing the concept of process to the students.
