Laura Stevens is an English photographer based in Paris. She holds a BA in Art and Design and an MA in Photography from the University of Brighton. Using photography as a means to consider personal feelings and circumstances, her narrative portraits speak about intimacy, relationships and loneliness. Her work has been included in exhibitions at the Encontros da Imagem Festival, Singapore International Photography Festival, The Latvian Museum of Photography, The Centre for Fine Art Photography, Arles Photography Open Salon and the FOTO8 Summershow. Stevens has been selected for the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize 2013, the Magenta Foundation’s Flash Forward Emerging Photographers 2012, received a gold medal in the Px3 Prix de la Photographie Paris and an honourable mention in the Lens Culture Exposure Awards. Alongside her dedication to longterm personal projects, she is a regular contributor for the press, for publications such as The Times Magazine, The Saturday Telegraph and Metropolitan Magazine, as well as photographing on longterm international projects for NGOs.
