When I was a child I was lucky enough to be brought up surrounded by what I believed to be a magical world. My father worked as a cinema operator which gave me access to the entertainment industry and because of this I was able to explore, learn and grow through the art of films. It is through this, being stimulated by such great works, that my visual perception has grown.
In the late 90’s I began to further my knowledge on the entertainment industry, I went to study lighting (concert, -Im…) in Huelva, Spain. I worked as a lighting assistant for a TV channel, at concerts, theatres, festivals and I believe this is how I really began to develop my skills. I went on to study a photography Degree at Leon Ortega Art School.
By 2003 my journey continued onto Barcelona, this time creative self-growth made me begin a Graphic Design Degree at Llotja Graphics Art School. Alongside studying I worked at ‘The Centro Cultural Contemporaneo de Barcelona,’ which inspired and influenced my ideas about events organization, exhibitions and festivals in a form of expressing art to the masses.
During this period I started my photographic self "Trash-Time," which is a movement about urban art using the personal interplay of recycled/ found objects and people through time.
‘Trash-time’ pursues to highlight the growing and defining personality of the object and its environment, the usual setting being the urban landscape. Everything that the city throws away through furious production are the components that represent a vision of a social history within a system based on daily consumption. Using photography, digital media and illustration as tools of a creative Diogenes syndrome offers a closer contact with the trash represented in my art.
I am currently living and working in London as a freelance photographer and lighting technician for film. I also freelance as a documentary photographer for ‘RichMix’ in Bethnal Green and for ‘Vital Arts’ in Aldgate. This has offered me very rich photographic experience and gave me the voice to express my artistic voice through many mediums within various collectives. Recently I have also studied Digital Graphic Motion - VFX and Sound Design & Music Technology at University of the Art London.
I continue to develop TrashTime through collectives and exhibitions, also involving myself in circus performance, dance, alternative cinema spaces and clown workshops. I've also created ‘konnectedkollective’ which aims to join and network different skills and mediums of art and form a team that will work in a project, which concentrates art and social influences in a way to change mentalities and the world.
