21 years young, art student/nerd and loving every minute of it. Probably the most optimistic person you will ever meet. My name is Katy. I am very passionate about all types of graphic design, especially illustration. I have just recently spent half of this year studying a semester abroad in New Zealand. It was here that I discovered my love for illustration in all forms, whether it be for magazine articles, hand-drawn typography, or pattern design. I'm in the middle of my 4th year at University of Wisconsin-Stout where I major in graphic design and minor in spanish. When I graduate this May, I would like to work as an illustrator and graphic designer. I'm a self-motivated graphic design student at UW-Stout who will be graduating in May 2012. I'm very passionate about design and I enjoy doing all types of graphic design, especially illustration. I believe that the best way to make a living is to do something that actually makes you feel alive. Art is my true passion in life. I want to be able to use what I’m passionate about to do something that has big impact. I want to have a job that doesn’t feel like a job. I want to be happy doing what I love every day, however, what’s more important is to look beyond myself and think of the whole world. I want to use my powers for good. I want to put my heart and soul into designing for causes that I truly believe are good for people and the earth. For me, a graphic design career isn’t about making money for myself or helping a company sell stuff. It’s about people, not profit. It’s about using your skills to promote ideas that will better everyone’s lives. I want to use my artistic and communication skills to inspire and educate others about what is important. It doesn’t even feel right to describe this as job or a career—it’s definitely my calling. Read Less
