Oh. Hello there!
My name is Kathey Sweeney. I am currently attending Portland State University and am hammering away at my graphic design degree. I am not going to lie, I originally wanted to get a degree in photography, but once I started graphic design classes, I knew that it is what I wanted to make my career. And my photography shows up in my work every once in a while, so it all works out in the end.
I grew up in a small town called Yamhill, OR. About an hour drive from Portland. In high school I thrived in artistic mediums, especially photography. I won prizes in many photography competitions, but did not think I could make a career out of it, so I went off to Washington State University to follow my dream of becoming a Veterinarian. I quickly realized that being a Veterinarian wasn't what I wanted my Career to be, so I decided to turn towards a more creative track, determined to make it work. I moved back to Portland and enrolled at Portland State University because it has a Photography minor. Graphic Design was supposed to just fill my major requirements.
