Katarina Baliova was born in Slovakia where she discovered her passion for art from an early age. Her interests in drawing and painting have followed by intense study of fine art across the whole media for 2 years. During this time Katarina created over hundred drawings and paintings. She became an established member of an experimental group of artists called “CREATIVE”, and participated in multiple exhibitions around Holland and Slovakia. Her interests have also been drawn towards explorations in communication and during this time she has produced an award-winning documentary on “Verbal and Non-verbal Communication”. Later she travelled and lived in Australia, where she studied life drawing under the tutorage Dr.David Briggs ‘Julian Ashton School of Drawing’, Sydney. During her stay in Australia she assisted fashion photographers and cooperated on creative projects in the entertainment industry, in particular the Sydney Dance Company. In 2005 she moved to London and successfully completed a BA Hons degree in Art and Design, specialising in Photography (film and digital media). Katarina has worked and cooperated with numerous leading photographers on the following projects - Sony (UK), Esquire Magazine (UK), Vanity Fair (UK), Tatler Magazine (UK), Pekne Byvanie (SVK), and Markiza Magazine (SVK).

Currently Katarina’s photographic exploration is influenced by Surrealism and Symbolism. Her main body of work is focused on portraiture and the connection of the objects within a space and time.
