Hi, my name is Kaitlin (Aka Kait or Bug). I grew up in Boulder, CO and spent most of my childhood playing in the mud or running about outside. When it was necessary to be indoors, I entertained myself by reading, making forts, and drawing. My childhood experiences have influenced my designs and illustrations. I like using hand-made elements in my work whenever I can. I look for different materials and methods such as screen printing and letterpress to infuse personality in my design work.
I have recently branched into illustration and I love how freeing and challenging it can be – like a huge breath of fresh air. I have always been inspired by children's books. There is something so special the way a kid's face lights up while exploring the pages of a book. I still get that feeling of excitement when I look through children’s books especially when reading to my nieces.
