Jake Rynkiewicz

Freelance Industrial Designer

Chicago, IL, USA
In 2008, I graduated from the Columbus College of Art and Design with a degree in Industrial Design. Ever since, I've been surprising the companies and clients I work for with the amount of effort and imagination I put into my work. I like learning new things, I love making clever things, and I’m always on the lookout for a unique challenge.

I thrive in group-oriented settings, so it makes sense that my favorite parts of the design process are brainstorming and concept development. I excel at the later stages of the process as well, including concept rendering, 3-D modeling, and presentation. When it comes to creative projects, I like to take command and have learned how to delegate efficiently. Listening to my teammates is always a priority though, and I know how to recognize a good idea when I see it.

I enjoy working one-on-one with clients as well, and I've become confident enough to defend my ideas when appropriate yet able to adapt them to fit within the parameters of the design brief. Working in a corporate environment has taught me many valuable workplace skills such as task management, office etiquette, and the ability to meet deadlines timely and efficiently. I'm a well-rounded designer with a lot of real world experience.
