For a long time I’ve a had a interested in photography, first as small curiosity when playing around with an old Yashica rangefinder a couple of decades ago, which became more serious with my first SLR camera: an old Nikon FM2n. Both of these cameras still work and are still in use. My passion for photography is mainly driven by my passion for travel, either in remote locations or discovering hidden places in my country or my hometown, and all photos reflect my perspective of my wanderings.

The term travel photography probably is too broad, in terms of photographic genre my work can be seen as street or documentary, but also as landscape or nature. More than having an objective I enjoy telling the story of a location, to capture the essence of a place in its details, either if it’s a block of glacial ice or the rugged hand of a farmer . Nikon D300s, Nikon D800 as my main camera bodies, a Sony RX1 when I’m in a mood for a lighter setup.

Mostly Nikkor glass, but also Sigma, Tokina and Voigtländer lenses, usually I like to use zooms lenses for outdoor or landscapes and fixed-focal lenses for street and people photography, on Light Travelers I go through my setup a bit more in detail.
