My name is Johnny Kotze and I am a freelance illustrator working in Cape Town, South Africa. Surrounded by Table Mountain and the ocean. I say illustrator, but in truth I am many things. Part typographer, part designer, also hand letterer, conceptualiser and content creator amongst other things.
My work is characterized by bold lines and soft pastels, playing with imaginary shapes and 60's styles. Influenced by artists such as Martin & Alice Provensen, Jim Flora. Anthony Lupatelli and Miroslav Sasek. I graduated from Stellenbosch University in 2005. I love producing music, going to vintage markets, collecting strange objects and old music instruments.
