I had always thought I would be a writer, until I picked up a camera. It came to me late, during the dying days of a university degree. It was dressed in the clunky metal of an old Asahi Pentax, a cast-off camera from a friend. I thought it was old and beautiful. While my new hobby burned its way into an obsession, I worked in public relations writing press releases and rotating my small cache of suits, dress shirts and ties to last the work week. It was a good job for a 22-year-old trying to find his way. Then at the turn of the millennium, I decided to go for it. My obsession certainly wasn’t waning, so I packed up for some technical schooling in California, and some 365-day sun. That was ten years ago, and I still often have moments on set when I think to myself, "I can't believe I get to do this for a living." Read Less
