I am a well rounded individual, looking to develop a broad knowledge and experience base, in order to assist me in planning my path to becoming a successful professional designer. Full of curiosity, I have a fascination for new information. My passion for; literature, film, music, art and design, science and technology, allied with my I.T. skills, enables me to acquire knowledge from a broad range of media. I am constantly evolving and developing as a young designer. Over the course of my placement year thus far, I have progressively consolidated the skills learned through my design education. This, supported by a strong work ethic, has allowed me to excel in the application of my capabilities. I take great pleasure in immersing myself in professional design practise and eagerly seek new challenges to further my understanding of design in a commercial environment. Creativity

I have the ability to visualise concepts clearly and accurately, and the necessary skills to portray them through communicative sketching. I am able to use a variety of methods to facilitate the realisation of ideas, whilst incorporating key factors such as user interaction, the emotional properties of products and the impact they have on their surroundings. Eager to provide creative solutions to problems I gain immense satisfaction in exploring a diversity of outcomes to design challenges. I push myself to combine my capabilities and the influence of the relative variables within a design process to deliver products that recognise the envisaged users’ experience. This emotional design strategy is highly effective for product design but readily transferrable to the service design field.

Technical Aptitude / Commercial Awareness

I have a well developed understanding of perspective drawing and sketching techniques. My understanding of materials and manufacturing processes allow me to ensure my designs excel technically whilst maintaining commercial viability.

I have workshop experience as part of my undergraduate education, in which I have produced full size prototypes. I also have commercial experience, designing and making furniture and lighting for use in a design studio.

CAD Software

I am proficient in Photoshop, Solidworks, Photoview 360 and Corel Painter.
I have an understanding of Illustrator, Vectorworks, Indesign, Autodesk Sketchbook Pro, Autocad and 3D Studio Max. Read Less
