This site belongs to Calvary Christian School, a ministry of Calvary Church of Santa Ana, CA. It is a site geared towards promoting the school online.  Much like its church's site, it was a challenge to come up with a frontpage layout that could feature lots of information in an uncluttered manner.  In the end, it made sense to maintain some continuity by using modified versions of the templates I previously created for the church site (calvarylife.org). Therefore, the site is built with Dreamweaver templates that may be edited using the Contribute CMS.

The bold red color is not my favorite, but red, white, and blue are prominent in the school's colors, particularly the student's uniforms.  In addition to reinforcing the school's identity in the design by using the school colors, there is the secondary benefit that the photographs of the students often fit well with the design because they are wearing red, white, and blue.

The eagle graphic in the header on the site's content pages is taken from a muriel painting one of the students created on the school's campus as part of an Eagle Scout project.  I took a photograph of the muriel and worked with the graphic in Photoshop to touch up the contrast in the colors and clean it up (the wall it spans is very dirty).  The eagle head in the footer is taken from the school's scoreboard in the gym.  It must date back to the 1980's if not the 70's.  Again, it required some touch up in Photoshop.
