Jean Vatchara
Bangkok, ThailandJean Vatchara is a London based communication designer. Currently at the Royal College of Art pursuing an MA in Information Experience Design. Her current area of interests resides in the idea of interactivity as a communication tool.
She believes in effective and succinct communication. Her specialty is to allocate the right medium to the right message. Though analysis and experimentation, she has a develop skills in typography, editorial, illustration, film-making and interaction design.
Her pragmatic design approach comes from her training in architecture in her first degree. She has since worked in various fields in art and design holding a job as an art director at DDB in Bangkok and a Designer at Farmgroup working at international clients such as Google Hangouts, Vogue Thailand and Bacardi.
In the past two years she was featured in Slanted, a German typography publication and also exhibited in Granshan non Latin type conference. She has been collaborating with Pete Rossi (YG9) of RM&CO a multi-award winging studio on several projects in the likes of BWATT magazine.
Since the start of the RCA, her work, Sonicbells, a product done in collaboration with SONOS has been exhibited in the Uglyduck in London and at Sónar+d in Barcelona. She also presented the Common Cypher at the RALate: Ai Wei Wei Digital Disconnections, at the Royal Academy of Arts. Robot referendum has also been selected by the Science Museum to take part in the You, Robots exhibition in 2017.
