Lincoln, NE, USAI have been involved in the Publishing industry since 1995 with almost 19 years of them with Sandhillls Publishing and then 4 years with Cabela's CLUB Marketing Department. While working at Sandhills I was At that point I pursued my ART K - 12 Education Certification through Doane University and have been teaching in Lincoln Public Schools since 2014. I have also had the pleasure freelance contract work for clients such as Community Action Program, Duncan Aviation, Athletes Playbook, and Personified.com a sister company with CareerBuilder.com.
Along with creating imagery, layouts and graphics, I have enjoyed passing my knowledge & experiences on as an instructor at Doane University for 8 of those years. Here I worked on Curriculum development of the Graphic Design program for Doane, where I introduced students to the world of digital media, giving them an in-depth look into industry standard computer programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign, QuarkXpress, and CorelDraw.
Whether students took the class in preparation for their future careers, or just as a personal interest, I believe many of them have found the courses very rewarding, just as much as I have.

While at Lincoln North Star, I have been developing lesson plans, curriculum paths, and and instructing all levels of Digital Art 1 - 3, Photography1 - 4, along with a few Beginning Drawing Classes for all levels of high school students ranging from 9th - 12th grades, of all skill levels.

Student and Practicum Teacher experience
While in the certification program I completed my practicum experiences in the fall of 2016, of 15- 20 hours a week, working both at Zeman Elementary and Goodrich middle schools. I then finished up my Art Education K - 12 Certification by spending the next semester student teaching full time; 8 weeks with Eastridge Elementary, and 8 weeks with Southeast High school.

Graphic Design Instructor (Adjunct)
I helped bring the college up to speed in the computer graphics area, managing multiple night courses in Photoshop, QuarkXpress, Illustrator, and InDesign. Throughout the 8 years I served there, I worked closely with the department head to rework the curriculum to make sure we were up-to-date with current trends, projects, technical programs, and software updates.

I have also have been a member of the Sandhills Safety Committee and served as a first responder within the company. As a first responder, I am required to learn updates for CPR and go through a refresher course yearly to keep up with training so that I can help in case of an office-related emergency.
