Design Jeet Kune Do
Bruce Lee on style:

The techniques, though they play an important role in the early stage, should not be too restrictive, complex or mechanical. If we cling to them, we will become bound by their limitation.

Man, the living creature, the creating individual, is always more important than any established style or system.

Favor formlessness so that it can assume all forms and since it has no style, it can fit in with all styles. Utilizes all ways and be bound by none and, likewise, use any techniques which serves its end.

The perfect style is no style. You take a little something from everything. You take the good things from every different discipline, use what works, and you throw the rest away.

Do not deny the classical approach, simply as a reaction, or you will have created another pattern and trapped yourself there. Learn the principle, abide by the principle, and dissolve the principle. In short, enter a mold without being caged in it. Obey the principle without being bound by it.

Use only that which works, and take it from any place you can find it.
Little Boxes
Little boxes on the hill side, little boxes made of ticky-tacky.
Little boxes, little boxes, little boxes all the same.
There’s a green one and a pink one and a blue one and a yellow one,
And they’re all made out of ticky-tacky, and they all look just the same.
Where is Jazz going
“Where’s jazz going? I don’t know? Maybe it’s going to hell. You can’t make anything go anywhere. It just happens.” -Thelonious Monk
