Jan Schöttler is a designer and director based in Innsbruck (Aut). In love with the exceptional and enchanted by the detail, his approach is to create crisp, vivid ideas, concepts and designs, with a focus on motion projects.

After making his BA (hons) in Media Design, Jan was founding and running design-studio Pommesblauweiss in Munich (Ger) as one of 3 directors for about 5 years, realizing diverse motion design projects and commercials for german TV-Channels.

He then moved to Innsbruck (Aut) and right in the heart of the alps. Short after arrival he started to direct and produce an ongoing series of artist-portraits for the longterm award winning ad-campain "The Black Box Project" by german based advertising agency Schindler Parent. Accompanied by a highly motivated team, he travelled to Italy, France, Holland, Germany, California and Sweden to visit some of the cutting edge designers, studios and artist to find out, what makes them tick.

Facing the mountains also led to co-founding the "Laserkatz Artspace", a design collective and visual travelling circus dealing with projects and exhibitions in the field of contemporary art.

He is further supporting Innsbruck based concept & creation company "The Distillery", realizing kick-ass events, developing a premium media house and becoming the essence of active cultures.

One of the babies from the cooperation with the beautiful people there is the award winning Freeski Movie Project "JOB - Junkies on a Budget", creating a new perspective on freeskiing by including the contributions of several international film crews in one taylor made narrative plot.

Jan likes gliding on snow, rolling on mountains, riding on waves, diving the sea, hitting the road, being an explorer, enjoying good food, having strong coffee, drinking fine whiskey, enjoying dark chocolate, listening to rock music, laughing out loud, staying up long, serendipity... Read Less
