After training in Fine Art & working for seven years as an Environment Artist in the console games industry Peter has gone into the woods to partake in Forest School leadership, green wood working, 'primitive' crafts & functional leather work.
My carved items are all made using locally sourced green woods cut for conservation purposes, usually roughed out in the field using saw, axe & knife & finished at home with hand tools.
I generally prefer not to sand the items smooth but leave the faceted surface of the knife marks.
Culinary items are finished with Flax seed oil for safety & durability. Oiling should be repeated once or twice a year during the life of the product, particularly if they are under heavy use.
Studies have shown that wooden items often retain less germs than their synthetic counterparts.
