Phil Jones is a programmer, musician, teacher, blogger and all-round internet gadfly.

He has a degree in Computer Systems and Micro-Electronics from London University, and a Master's in Artificial Intelligence from Sussex University. As a programmer he's worked on everything from AI systems for ships' engines, to web-startups in the internet "bubble", to good-old-fashioned warehouse control software for hospital networks.

In between he's spent two years teaching Advanced Programming and Comparative Programming Languages at the University of Brasilia and pursuing a number of software projects of his own. Most recently, Mind Traffic Control : a "Getting Things Done"-style application for the Google Application Engine platform : http://www.mindtrafficcontrol.com

As a musician, Phil has composed music for ballet, gallery openings and poetry recitals and is becoming a regular DJ at artistic events. He runs an experimental "beat-blog" here : http://interstar.soup.io/ .

He participates in many online communities and discussions, recently becoming an official "game-master / co-ordinator" for the Institute for the Future's upcoming internet-wide "Superstruct" game (http://www.iftf.org/node/2098)

I live in language, six times ten to the twenty three signs down the syntagm, and left a bit, among the paradigms. Maybe I'm lost in this language. Or maybe found in a knotty maneuver of SQL in a secret police database.

In my world, bouncing balls make music, flying saucers swarm across the stars, renegade constructivist education brings down capitalism. I teach in colour, but without Power Points. (Yet I write books in Excel.) I orchestrate ballet and the apocalypse. My clown alter-ego performs in streets run wild with animal machines. I drink from the firefeeds. And ride to the firefall. And my wiki is both cauldron and compost heap.
