Member of the Royal College of Physicians, London and Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Since 1970 he has been a consultant cardiologist at Muhammadi Hospital,and the International Medical Research Centre, Hayatabad since 1988.[citation needed] Since 1984,[citation needed] he has been the Honorary President of the Pakistan Heart Foundation (PHF).
