Even when I was just a kid, I loved watching the news. It didn't matter if it was CBS's Evening News, the local station at 6 or the Today Show. I was addicted. I grew up telling my parents that I wanted to be one of "those guys" on TV that we saw every night.
My grandfather always told me if I worked hard enough and stayed in school, maybe, just maybe, I could be the next Walter Cronkite. He was my childhood hero, and as I watched his old broadcasts and heard his familiar, friendly tone, I knew someday I wanted to tell a story the way Uncle Walter did.
As I grew older, my passion for telling stories grew stronger. I'd take them in any form - whether written, on video or over the airwaves. I studied journalism and new media at Lipscomb University, where I became the editor of Lumination News, the school's online media site. I've interned for magazines, radio and web companies, and I've loved every second of it.
I may not know exactly where I'll end up after graduation in May 2012, but in this I'm confident - I've dedicated my life to telling stories, and I'll give them everything I've got. Read Less
