I use an abundance of software that aid me in my daily life and use across my machines. For browsing and debugging, I use Google Chrome and Canary. For development, I use WebStorm and PHPStorm by JetBrains as an IDE, Charles for HTTP debugging, and Sequel Pro for some GUI MySQL goodness. I rarely use text editors for coding, but If I do, it’s TextMate. I just switched to iTerm from OS X’s native Terminal and am currently feeling it out, with zsh & oh-my-zsh as a shell. I keep a mess load of organized code snippets using Dash and I keep notes with Evernote. Sometimes during development, I need some design utilities, so I use Hues for quick color picking, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator for image editing, ColorSchemer Studio 2 for color, and ImageOptim for image compression. Some other random tools I like to have available is mimedia for backup, sharing, and storage, BetterTouchTool for additional trackpad gestures, Fantastical to keep me updated with my appointments, f.lux to dim my screen based on time of day so my eyes don’t strain themselves, and Soulver to keep my financial calculations hassle free.
