For achieving artists/designers/photographers without college degrees who rely on their skills, not a piece of paper.

In other words:

The purpose of this group is to show that you don't need to have a "proper/formal" education in order to succeed in the professional world.

NOTE: This is -not- to be taken as an attack on design/art students, regardless of their academic status.

No one is saying one is better than the other.

People without degrees have as much right to be recognized as schooled professionals, as long as they have the skills to back their claims.
