About
Born in sunny Sicily in 1982, Gianni Varrica is a piano player, arranger, composer and sound designer. Definitely inspired by 70's rock and progressive bands, in 2001 he started composing his own music, while studying classical and jazz piano (CPM Music Institute, Milan, with Massimo Colombo) and electronic composition (Conservatorio V. Bellini, Palermo, with Giuseppe Rapisarda and Emanuele Casale).
Since 2003 Gianni has been working in Italy as session musician with bands and solo artists, arranger, MIDI programmer, synthesizer demonstrator and piano teacher.
Credits as keyboard player and arranger include Roland Italy, Maria Corso, Sergio Algozzino, Antonio Dognini, O'scià 2008 (with Claudio Baglioni, Paolo Belli and Antoine Michel), Laboratorio Faber; credits as sound designer and MIDI programmer include Mediaset, Silvio Melloni, Mauro Abbatiello, Mussida Music Publishing (CPM Music Institute), Jordan Tagliavia/Humble Games.
