I grew up in Redlands, CA. At a young age I began to doodle which spurred my love of art. But, as most children do, I jumped around to different activities. I took a few art classes while in middle school and high school, but my love of drawing laid dormant for most of those years. Upon arrival at Pacific Union College in Angwin, CA I declared a major in Fine Art. As I was getting more and more involved with art, I discovered an interest in Graphic Design. I quickly changed my major to Graphic Design, with an Illustration emphasis, which I felt was the best of both worlds. As a requirement for graduation, Graphic Design majors have to take a beginning black and white Photography class. As fate would have it, I was hooked. I knew Photography was what I wanted to pursue in addition to Graphic Design, and soon after declared Photography as my second major.
For two of my five years at Pacific Union College, I participated in the Student Association and was the Public Relations Officer of my 2012 Senior class. I was the editor of the Funnybook in 2012 and was the Assistant Editor for the two years prior. For the 2009-10 school year,I was the editor of the Diogenes Lantern; the yearbook for Pacific Union College. I enjoyed my time at Pacific Union College and graduated in June of 2012 with two Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Graphic Design and Photography.
I enjoy pushing the envelope and looking for new things. Art is ever changing and expanding. I find it elementary to center on one form, one style, or one medium. I am always looking for new ways to be creative and challenge my skills. My camera is never far from my reach.
Although I love art, photography, and design, they are not my whole life. I enjoy the great outdoors, camping, hiking, bouldering, snowboarding, and the occasional Surfing and Skateboarding. Although I have not traveled much, it is on my list of activities to achieve. Experiencing another culture is a wonderful way to broaden ones horizons. Music makes the world go 'round. Since high school I have always enjoyed good music and most often that music was not in the top 100. I would support local artists and the underground scenes of many different genres. Good music is everywhere. I am always searching the web for interesting things of social media, architecture, apparel , furniture design, photo gear, and typefaces. I love to have a good laugh which I believe to be very important in the workplace, and in life. If you have a chance to meet me you may notice I am quite a bit taller than the average person as I am 6'6". It comes in handy for cleaning ceilings, grabbing things from the top shelf and the occasional intimidation.
Thanks for stopping by. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to email me. I appreciate any and all feedback.
