BLACK TIE KNIGHT
A Seminal Guide on How to be a Modern Day Superhero

This is David Baur-Ray’s creative blog.  It initially started out as a school project, but thanks to his PPC campaign and social networking, it quickly grew more popular.  The blog acts as a self-improvement guide for the millennial demographic.  To add to the appeal, the modern day superhero angle was created, which turned the blogs purpose into something much more. It also became a great medium to express some creative work, such as: a logo, banner, and some ads.
I know you are out there.
You are not like most, you are a minority. You know there is something more, a greater purpose to your life. But you are vastly underachieving, and it haunts you every time you look into the mirror. You know you can make a big difference in the world.
Welcome to Black Tie Knight, this is a revolution of your lifestyle, where heroes are realized. I don't need to urge you to follow this.
You know what to do.

THE FUTURE IS OURS.
Get down with the superhero sickness

Be an interesting man. Be hell to live up to.
There’s a Storm Coming…

Unlike our fathers generation it will not be every man for himself. It will be every man for his generation. Look to lead this new hero generation into the new age. The age of creative fury, new vision, empathy, and ways to save and build a better world. The old guard has battened down the hatches and dug his decaying heals into our time. I say today we topple the gates of the impossible and show humanity what can be possible if enough perspicacious people lead us into tomorrow. These are controversial ideas; concepts wrought with fear and contempt. But whoever risks it all, gains it all, fore this world is still ripe for innovation, but who will wake up from the trance of apathy?

Who's with me?

People will dream again and heroes will rise again.

If you don’t have a passion in life…you may not have a soul. Too many zombies, too many vampires. Follow your passion or die trying. There is nothing else.
The banner graphic for the blog
THE GREATEST LEADERS DO NOT WANT POWER, BUT A WORLD THAT SUFFICIENTLY EMPATHIZES WITH THE STRUGGLES OF HUMANITY.

Your true leaders do not hold a title, wear a fancy suit, a funny hat, or a pair of aviators
They do not command a board, army, senate, a jurisdiction, nor a stage, and their power does not reside in a gun, law, microphone, or a license to kill. Our true leaders are the people that shape our everyday lives, the parents who raised you, the teachers who taught you, and the bosses who hired you.  These are the people who understand human struggles the most.  They live around us, they shape us, and because of this our leaders are within us.  They are us.

You know it and I know it. There is something more to you and you haven’t even scratched the surface.  You can do more, but something is in the way. I see a generation of heroes…The Hero Generation…masses of individuals with the ability to turn the world on its head.  But are too distracted, discouraged, and disoriented to do anything about it.

I see a whole generation of people who are geared to rethink problems and find clear solutions.  All you have to do is prove it. The 1st step to changing the world is not a step at all, but a strike.  One strike of a key on a keyboard, can start an avalanche of change.

I’ve made my strike.  Now it’s your turn.

What is your Reason for Existence?

This is the question that has haunted humanity since the day humans became self aware.  It is the most important question of your reality. However, it bothers me when so many put little thought into it.  The trials of the lost–people who live life day-to-day without a cause or purpose, other than to live to live.  I suppose such hedonistic life philosophies sound rather alluring at first.  But over time one cannot continue to sustain happiness in a constant state of self absorbency, and certainly a community can not sustain itself without regard for the greater good of the whole.
Thankfully, some people can see beyond themselves and looks to give back and leave a positive mark on society.  At this point one reaches a new level of consciousness and realizes the reality of the whole, and sees its value to the world around him/her.  You see this often in parents caring for their children.  But, seldom do you see such rationale towards an entire community, much less the entire world.  These giants of our time are an extreme rarity.  Those such as Jesus Christ, Martin Luther King Jr, and Gandhi are superheroes who could see beyond trivialities and knew what humanity must do to sustain a greater sense of peace and happiness.
People like these type of socially aware individuals must be our great leaders in the future, our superheroes.  They are people who know what they must do, they are not tyrants but servants of their followers and visionaries to a better world. They are men in their own element, flickers of greatness within humanity who followed their passion and lived for what they believe in and therefore, fittingly died for what they believe in.
So I leave you with the same question I greeted you with…
What is your reason for existence?

to be continued…
