John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne (born 3 December 1948) is an English singer-songwriter and occasional actor, whose career has spanned over 40 years.
Osbourne rose to prominence as lead vocalist of the pioneering English heavy metal band Black Sabbath, a band whose radically different, intentionally dark, doom sound spawned the heavy metal genre. In his subsequent solo career Osbourne achieved a multi-platinum status in addition to the one he had earned with Black Sabbath. These things are what led Osbourne to become known as the "Godfather of Heavy Metal". It was during his Sabbath days that, because of their dark style of music, Osbourne became known as the "Prince of Darkness". Osbourne has over 15 tattoos, the most famous of which are the letters O-Z-Z-Y across the knuckles of his left hand. This was his first tattoo, created by himself as a teenager with a sewing needle and pencil lead.
In the early 2000s, Osbourne's career expanded to a new medium when he became a star in his own reality show, The Osbournes, alongside wife/manager Sharon and two of their three children,Kelly and Jack. As a solo artist, Osbourne has sold over 32 million albums worldwide.
Korn (styled as KoЯn) is an American nu metal band formed in Bakersfield, California, in 1993. The current band line up includes four members: Jonathan Davis, James "Munky" Shaffer, Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu, and Ray Luzier.
Korn formed in 1993, the same year they released their first demo album, "Neidermeyer's Mind".
The album featured the two ex-members of Korn, Brian "Head" Welch and David Silveria.
Their debut album, "Korn" was released in 1994, where they featured the same musicians that had performed on Neidermeyer's Mind. The band began recording "Life Is Peachy" in April 1996, and released it on October 15, 1996. "Follow the Leader" is recognized as Korn's mainstream breakthrough, peaking at number one on the Billboard 200 in 1998, along with the following album, "Issues" in 1999. The band released "Untouchables" on June 11, 2002, and later released "Take a Look in the Mirror" November 2003, both peaking in the top ten of the Billboard 200. Their first compilation album, Greatest Hits Vol. 1, peaked at number four on the Billboard 200. "See You on the Other Side" was released on December 6, 2005, and Korn's untitled album was released nearly two years later on July 31, 2007. "Korn III: Remember Who You Are", the band's ninth studio album, was released July 13, 2010 via Roadrunner Records.
To date, Korn has sold 20 million albums in the US, and a combined total of 35 million albums worldwide as of 2009.
