Monster Mash- Ink Drawing

I have been in a weird mood as of late so this peice was done more for fun than the compition i entered it into. I wanted to reconnect with my love of drawing strech my drawing legs as it were. With everything seeming so bleak I still think that a good illustration, painting, sculpture or whatever can pull a person out of a slump and reignite a lost flame. party on my friends.

 

The design is made to transition from a colorful outline in the sun to a white t-shirt indoors and in the dark to rage on again with all the figures illuminated on the shirt.

 

Allot of the time when I am thinking of the dark my brain jumps to creatures of the night and I just wanted to have fun with it so I did a goofy style that is a combination of my own stylization and a couple of my buddy's styles (namely Breandan Mauer and Melissa Duffy) that I have grown to love from their art work over the last couple of years.

also I was playing with how each creature would dance so i have Igor shuffling, the giant raising the roof, the invisible man is dressed like humpty from digital underground etc...

oh yeah and...It was a graveyard smash.... to design
