With all the recent renditions of Medusa painting her as some sort of monstrous villain to be feared and as a symbol of sexuality, I wanted to portray the infamous mythology as a much more vulnerable character, someone who is as much a victim of her curse as those who look up on her. A young woman frightened and alone and suffering with the hostility of her affliction.
