johnnie walker / flavour is king

  • ALT.VFX collaborated with Leo Burnett and Exit films to help create the latest Johnnie Walker campaign.
Where Flavour is King was directed by Mark Molloy and shot entirely in Prague.
My role was concept artist, where both Rowan Cassidy and myself designed the various rooms and corridors in the mansion that our guide narrator "walks" through.

ALT.VFX was called upon to help concept and create the mansions three elaborate main rooms in intricate detail.  These include the tree room, spice library and the flaming barrel room.

These concept designs were done before the shoot. Starting with photography from the Prague location we built the rooms first so that both the director, agency and client could get a sense of the scale for how each scene may appear. Once the general layout of the rooms was established they were further conceptualised in 3D to create the surreal environments seen throughout the commercial.

Built entirely as 3D environments the rooms were constructed from over 300 individual CG models.
